want to replace speakers
have searched here and other places and get mixed results as to what size the speakers are in both front and rear doors
any one know if they are 6 or 6.5s

Glad to see someone got it right. They have always been 6" in the GU's but most 6'5" speakers will fit. Speakers are like shoes. Size 12 isn't always size 12 so no matter what anyone tells you, there are no guarantees. When measuring speaker size it's generally the size of the cone rubber that is 6" accross. The mounting size could be anywhere between 5.5"-6.5".

Just pull all my trims off.
Went and got some 6.5s
Far kin holes don't line up in the front.
I could file them out a bit but cbf.
What speakers have people used that the holes just line up with factory ones?
Thanks
Djb

Pioneer 6.5" 4-way (TSA1685S) are the way to go. They just fit and are excellent value speakers. They're a very good acoustic match with the GU cabin if you've got a 50w MOSFET head unit to drive them properly.

Just redrill a couple of holes or 3 so they fit, that's what I do. The factory Clarion speakers are absolute crap quality anyway, I'm surprised they haven't died already

There's a cheap set of Alpine SPS-600 on eBay at the moment that will bolt straight in... the bloke has even got a full set front and rear.
