Hi guys, of course my speedo isn't working as many of them do. The previous owner stated that two years ago while driving it started jumping to 0 or to 180, just to go back to normal soon after, then after some time it stopped for good. Right now it sits at 180+ as shown in the picture, occasionaly going to 130/140 if i go fast enough just to drop back to 180 as i slow down.
I've read many posts on the forum but my speedo doesn't have a crystal so it can't be that. I've checked all solder joints but they all look good to me, the four ones on the motor are a bit ugly so I've reflown them. Still, nothing changed.
I've checked the sensor and the gear looks good. If i spin the sensor with a drill it behaves the same way as it does when i drive on the road, it goes to 130/140 then back to 180 as soon as i stop.
What do you guys think, do i need a new sensor or a new instrument cluster? I'm thinking it could be the cluster, but I'm not sure.
