Split rim sizes - no comprehende

Hi all, i don't get what 7.50R16-8PRLT means insofar as wha tthe size of the tyre is in comparison to a 275/65 R17...

I've just measured my trailer tyres, Dunlop Super Gripper and a BFG Trac Edge for a spare and they are about 30.5" tall.

Nope, just double checked, definitely 7.50 16 LT. Remeasured my best one (about half worn) and it is somewhere between 30.5" and 30.75"
