Hi guys started on my new draws today, hope to have them finished in a cpl more days see how I go, got all the steel folded up , 1.2 & 1.6 mm thick what ever they had there, got the bearings and some handles.

This is where I'm at so far

Hopefuly get handles in, ply on and maybe carpet on it tomorrow

Hey mate, I guessing about 60/70 odd kgs at least, but they'll be better than the old timber ones I had in there and a lot less cheaper than the proper ones and longer too, mine are 1200 mm long compared to the after market ones which are only about 940mm long.

They look heavy with that rectangular tubing down each side of tthe draws. They will definitely be solid. Good looking draws.

How much did the charge u for the folding?

And did you get the folding done at a steel supply or fabricator.

Doing it again would you stick to 1.2 only or less (0.9-1.0) OR more (1.6)...

Looks like you got some thick wall for the slides!

Hey Nathan, cost was about $280 supply and bent
and would probably still stick to 1.2 mm for stength and
so you can still weld it where needed


Well just about finished just need some ally on the front and back edges
Very happy with how its turned out :bigthumb:
one draw is a bit tight thou

Cost all up about $450, for steel, locks, bearings and bolts and screws.
the ply and carpet free and 2 1/2 days work,
Not bad, to buy would be over $2000.

deffinetly like them a lot more than the good ol ply board style.
might be a dumb question but do you have some sort of limiter on the draws, eg if you on a hill will they just slide out?? if they are open.

Yeah mate, put a block on both sides of the draw which stops on one of the bearings and keeps about 300mm inside so to rest on 4 bearings and to stop them from closing on me I drilled a hole in the top to insert a pin to lock them.

Hey mate, yeah I used the existing bolt holes in the floor through the metal piece bent up
