hey guys,

when i start my gq patrol 1990 4.2d, it will click and thats it, sometimes it will tick over first go but, i have a brand new stratermotor its a hitachi genuine td42 all went on well, been on for 2 months know, its was ticking fast for a bit as if something was shorting out

battery or a bad earth id say
if not possible voltage drop to starter solenoid. how do u get it started when it plays up?

i would have to clutch start it

when i plays up try running a wire direct from the battey pos to the thin wires terminal on the starter and if it starts then u know u have voltage drop

yer, good idea mate, would have done that know but i have found a brocken wire leading to the battery, all fixed up know
