Got a call late sat night and left early sunday morning to meet up with Rick/L300.

First time I've been there. Went with an L300 and a few quad's.

Ended up dropping into a creek bed and following it up. There was a section that was a small waterfalls vertical wall that the quads couldn't make it without flipping over. The L300 stayed back at the road. Too many large boulders to go over.

The thing that surprised me and everyone else was the Duratrac tires. I aired down to 18 psi and they flexed like a soft balloon and griped the slick wet rock like glue. One of the other L300's we met up was running Territory 31's and we tested it's flex compared to the Duratrac's on a sharp rock. They both flexed equally. I'm now convinced it's pretty much the same tire except for a slight difference in tread pattern.

I couldn't believe the Safari made it up a steep creek bed that was meant for quads. This is where the long wheel base came in handy. If you look at some of the pictures, look at the angle of the trees and you'll get an idea of how steep it was and full of running water.

All the people watching bet that it wouldn't make it. Nissan made me proud that day my friends :-D

Nice pics. It looks like you were lower than 18psi.

Generally speaking, IH8MUD, especially Stave lake mud flats. Don't ever get stuck there and abandon your Safari. There are way too many morons around there that love to destroy anything left unattended. I know of one guy who told me one of his friends got stuck on the mud flap and walked out to flag someone down with a cell. Thirty minutes later he saw smoke and someone had torched his truck for kicks. Hopefully, if plans work out, the area will have controlled access. Otherwise, it is going to get shut down completely.

I understand that Sylvester has calmed down quite a bit the last few months. Little Iraq has been cleaned up and is now gone as it is being used as a log sort. There are lots of nice trails up there. Hopefully the active logging continues, as it will discourage the idiots from heading there.

18psi on the dot. They are load range E. Amazing tires. Crawling up the river bed against the current, the duratrac's just grabbed everything. Spiderman must have had a hand in the creation of these things.

Yes, the Y60 lives in Canada!

Now you have me curious about airing down my E load tires.

It's good Canadians are finally understanding the why I like the Y60s so much.
