hey all

just wondering about steering damper locations

mine is a 88 GQ SWB and the eyelet at each end.
one end on the drag link one end on the chassis

i see others that mount one end on the drag link and one end on the pan hard rod?

anyone know the benefit?

thanks

Hey mate...the closer to the same plane the better so there is a simple bolt on adapter for your panhard to use the newer layout. I've still got both dampers on my 88 GQ.

Bumping this thread. Have heard from some people that the chassis mount style will transfer the steering movement into rotating the drag link ball joints for the first initial part of the movement before the damper starts doing its job? Does anyone know if this is true or just people not setting up one of the brackets properly?
