Hi Chaps.

Some may remember that I had a 2.8 GU wagon. Had a slight upgrade now.

Picked up this last August:

Scored it off a good mate of mine in Brissy (some may recognise it).

It's a 03 ST coil cab.
TD42ti - 162.4HP
Diesel Central - DC3 IP
Garrett GTX2863 - .48 r. Running 20psi boost
North Side W2A & hi flow intake manifold & air box lid
EGR Deleted
3 inch zorst
Front & Rear ARB air lockers
43% low range reduction gears
4.6 Diff ratios
Marks speedo corrector
Marks 5th gear upgrade
3 inch king springs
Koni shocks
Superior Arms & tower brace
16x8 Procomp rock crawler wheels
305/70 16 Km2s
12000 pound winch
Dual batterys
Cobalt EGT & Boost gauges
Alpine Double Din, splits, sub + amp
GME uhf
Cruise control
2nd glove box mod
Dynamatted floor, doors and rear of cab
Seats reupholstered
Vinyl floors
TJM winch bar
APT sliders and brush bars
Solid tray with water tank

Pretty happy with how it goes, had to do a few changed like remove dodgy aftermarket alarm. Other than that i'm a proud TD42 owner/ convert ;)

Mods to come:
- Alloy canopy with roof top tent
- Decent snorkel & airbox (maybe fatz or radius fab?)
- Better driving lights & winch
- Bigger turbo / IC perhaps..
- Maybe go a bit higher & 35s

That will do for now.. ill post up some pics of it in action soon.

Cheers

Nice one mate.
Any more pics of the engine bay.

Especially airbox / turbo side of motor and of the manifold.

Cheers

Cheers Guys,
Yeah very happy, I've only whacked on a new UHF antenna, cheap spotlights and a cheap winch. In a couple of months I should have a nice canopy built, still considering using the current tray as its nice and solid :)

Nice one mate.

Thanks mate,

Heres some pics:

As you can see the north side intake is a modified standard mani..

Good size going into the turbo, but the current restriction is the airbox/snorkel itself.

Cheers,
Stoffy

Nice setup you've got yourself now mate. Snorkel and airbox should make a noticeable improvement.
Thanks mate, its a good bus 20x better then the old !
I think so, still undecided on what to chose tho.. quite like your setup.

Been a bit quiet of late - time for a bit of an update.

Doing a big Simpson trip in Oct this year, after the Deni ute muster.
Currently having a alloy canopy fabbed up for the ute, will look pretty trick when done.
Bit different too

Just trying to work out what to do as far as storage inside.

Also replaced the uppers with Superior adjustable's.

ummm what else.. well successfully killed the water to air inter-cooler water pump, so that's been replaced & moved into the engine bay. Also fitted a Redarc low coolant alarm, i think its cheap insurance.
Will post some updates as the canopy progresses :)

Stoffy mate that canopy looks mint! I'll be at Deni this year with a few mates too. Heading up east coast NSW, onto Moreton then back down through the Darling River Run to the muster. Will definitely keep an eye out for your truck be great to catch up for a yarn. Will post a pic of my extra cab gq when i'm home so ya know who to look out for!

Cheers blokes.. :D

Got a bit more done today. Now has a hardwood marine ply floor, so will have a nice solid base to mount storage etc. Fridge slide is screwed into the alloy frame of the false floor... no chance of any movement. Just have to do up a drawer for food storage, slide out surface for kitchen and a heap of 12 v work. Good thing mates work for beer ayeee !!

Thanks mate. Gettin' along.. slowly.

Oh awesome what a trip. We head over on the boat from Tassie on the 1st oct. Then after Deni head up to Broken Hill, Innamincka, Birdsville, Simmo, Mt Dare, Oodnadatta track etc.. then home. Big trip for us Tassie Folk :)

Will have to catch you for a beer there mate..

Nice. A pull out drawer would be nice where number plate is

Thanks champ. I would do, however when we started to mod the old steel tray we found 2 bits of the RHS to be shagged.. sooooooo this base will just be to get me through this trip. Next year I will have a new tray done up with some sorta drawer under. Good thinkin' tho

Cheers.
