So as the title stats the wife our 9month old son and I are heading to Straddie from Boxing day till the 2nd,

Ive never been before so was just after some advice on place's to go and things to see, and just general advice about the joint

We will be camping on main beach with some friends but wouldnt mind exploring during the day.

Go for a drive down the bottom. Great fishing and calm waters for the little one. I normally camp about 5km from the bottom. Haven't camped up the top end since I got banned from the island when I was young and dumb.

The keyholes fresh water lakes, brown and blue lakes also worth a look. The beach up round flinders (northern section) is normally calmer for swimming with young kids as well. Might see you over there. Camping on Main with about 6 other groups.
