SURGING ON ACCELERATION

Hi
Despite changing both fuel filters and taking mt vehicle to my mechanic, I continue to have surging as I accelerate in 2nd & 3rd gears.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so, what was your solution?
My mechanic has a policy of NOT replacing injectors because in the past it has resulted in replacing the entire fuel system as the injector replacement on these engines have a habit of releasing fine metal particles.

What your mechanic said is the greatest load of BS I've read, he simply doesn't want to do it, find another mechanic. They can be removed and tested by specialists.
I'm not a great believer in replacing injectors every 150,000, if they have been looked after they will last a lot longer, by looked after I mean good fuel, injector cleaner in the fuel a couple of times a year or running a quality injector cleaner direct into the pump, the latter is what I do once a year.

I’m not aware of any ZD30 with two fuel filters as standard. If it is a ZD30 (and not a TD42) you might have a different fuel supply issue caused by a modified filtration system.

as standard, not that am aware of either.
People going to Africa, where it is common "practice" to add water to fuel, install a pre-filter to remove water like the Racor 500FG, to protect the IP and the injectors.
It also prevents your fuel filter to get clogged if you fill-up right after your station tanks were refilled by a truck. Most Patrols travelling outside Europe have a pre-filter fitted.
