Hi all,

I have a 1990 GQ diesel tray back with everything original (suspension and steering etc)
Was wanting to give the ute new shocks all round and there is a knocking noise coming from the front end
Shocks - I am wanting good quality shocks that i can fit myself and will be able to handle moderate dirt roads but strong enough to last. What do people recommend? Would a small 2" or 3" lift kit suffice?

In regards to the knocking noise when steering/load - a mechanic has looked at the vehicle and has said that their is a slight movement in the front leaf springs due to weight shift when cornering "all nissans and toyotas with leaf springs have this problem"

By getting a better shocky set up / lift kit will the above matters be addressed/resolved?

Thanks for your postings

Go see fulcrum, they will tell you exactly what needs doing.

As for the clunk, well I have the same make of vehicle as you but with 5 lift and 35's. Some times I put my 37's on but either way I have NO clunking or odd leaf spring movement as you have described.
