Got a 2 inch lift kit put in a few months ago. paid $1600. why cause i was told they were the best.
On the way to cruiser park on the dirt road sitting on 60klms and 20psi i couldn't keep up with a factory patroland was getting overtaken by trucks. everything was rattling and shaking pretty violently. after a minute or so it was too unbearable so had to back off to a crawl.
Didn't go real well in the park either.
Took the car back to get checked and they reckon nothing wrong with it. said to drive it for a bit longer and if i was still unhappy they would replace the shocks. but not sure if i want them anymore after having a bad experience.
Wonder how i would go about getting my money back or at least some of it.
Any ideas.
cheers

What shocks are they mate, brand name please. Much more likely to be over rated Springs rather than the shocks. Unless they are adjustable Tough Dogs (crap) or something that are wound right up.

What accessories to you have on the vehicle? did the shop consider this when they fitted the kit? Is the shop a 4x4 specialist supplier?

At this stage mate i would be looking at the springs. If its a half decent brand, and for that price it should be, then get them to replace items at their cost till it is set up the way it should have been first time.

Not really sure what your problem is mate.

You haven't told us what 4x4,
Coil or leaf.
what kit it was.
Didn't go real well in the park either. doesn't tell us anything.

Did you buy based on they told you it was the best, Or they told you it would suit your intended use and situation.

The brand is ome bought from a 4x4 specialist store (arb stockist) in an 02 4.8 coil sprung wagon.
It has a steel bar with winch, aluminium steps and muddies. All taken into account when bought. When first installed they put in wrong shocks that were too stiff until correct ones were delivered.
Also since new suspension was put in i am getting clunking noises when the body rocks an clicking noises when reversing up a hill.

Have you actually looked to see if anything is loose, bent or broken yourself??

i was standing next to the mechanic. we pulled the shocks off and checked the springs. nothing bent or broken anywhere.
