Hey all, just wanting to know if anyone has gone as far as building a tough NA TB series engine naturally aspirated??

May give a clue to my next project I think...

Was thinking of just a TB series engine with some of these, high comp pistons, shot peened rods, new ACL throughout, cam, port/polish head with springs & rets, large injectors, custom intake plenum and intake pipe, tuned computer...

YouTube - ‫

Something like that as a reference....

Cheers in advance.

I currently run a large turbo on my TB42 now, but have always been an all motor fan.

I have a TB45 in my GQ. I've thrown lots of dollars at the engine and the results aren't as good as I would expect.
Rebuilt head with all new components and ported. Compression increased. Bottom end balanced and lightened. Straight gas with XF throttle body and Impco 425. Lots of other good gear also.
It goes nearly as well as my mates GU TB48. Still heaps better than the standard TB42 tho and no risk of a cracked head.
If I had my time again I would have used a BA falcon 6 or a turbo on the TB45.

May seriously be looking at this path. Now just have to find someone to buy my turbo setup (shouldnt be too hard at all) and use those funds to support new NA build. Still thinking about this option, just have to some up the good vs bad first, do some maths etc.
