have done a lot of reading on this site always been helpfull .
my tb 42 got dusted , dual fuel , the notorious backfire !!
decided to swap out & replace with td black top
with all the work i decided to lift the body off , certainly has made engine n g/box removal a piece of cake , have use of a 7 t forklift.
next job is replacing wiring loom
long night ahead.

While the body is off is a good time to brace the rear spring perches.

Hey mate what lifting points did you use. Did you use a spreader bar and sling from the bottom, or did you simply pick it up from the roof.

hi jd , i used a 7 t forklift , put some packing over the ( long ) tynes , spread them out , through front & rear windows , slow lift , double check nothing still connected , then straight up .
its a bit of work disconnecting everything , but no skinned knuckles , can get to everything easy. cheers.

So no damage to the body at lifting points? Did you take the doors off? A good check would be if they still shut properly

no damage , i made sure doors were closed properly , wound windows down , padded across tynes, only took fronts seats n front carpet out , had to to get transmission tunnel cover out.
