Hi guys.
I brought a 2001 gu with a tb45e efi manual
I was wondering how can I adjust the cold start idle speed?
And what should the rpm be?
When I start the car when its engine is cold it revs up to 2000rpm strait away until it starts getting some temperature in it.
I really don't like it doing this because the oil doesn't even get a chance to build up pressure and at 3am when I go to work it very loud.
Is there an adjustment screw or does it have to be done via the ECU?

First ensure your ignition timing is correct.
1: Start engine and warm up.
2: Rev engine to 2-3k rpm a few times.
3: Engine rpm should be 600-700rpm, There is an idle speed adjusting screw on the throttle.
4: Check ignition timing is between 9-11 BTDC, adjust if necessary.
5: Ensure both idle speed and ignition timing are checked after adjusting either, as adjusting one of them will effect the other, re-adjust if necessary.

If your TPS is out of adj then that's another procedure.

I would be checking the thermal actuator on the throttle body. There is two heater hoses that flow through it and it automatically adjusts the throttle when cold and drops off when the engine coolant heats it up.
