Hi everyone,

I'm looking at making a custom mandrel bent snorkel and I'm wondering what these two boxes do that are attached to the air intake tubes in the engine bay? Is it just to reduce induction noise or something? Is there any problem with getting rid of them and having straight through pipes?

Cheers,

Scott

Im guessing the one down the bottom is to catch any water that may get in, I think i seen somewhere that the big one on top is just a noise reducer or something, i dont think it would be a problem if removed.

that top one is tuned to a specific volume and has a fair effect on the responce of the engine when you inicially crack the throttle open. i saw a right up about it in my hot4s days, not saying that you would even feel the difference but hey...
