Hi all.

I have been reading loads of posts and not found any info on this. Most posts recommend to use genuine water pump but theres 8 different genuine nissan water pumps listed in the parts catalogue with prices varying from 34usd to 78usd. Does it matter which one I choose for my factory td42t?

It's all rather confusing.

21010-06jx8 being the cheapest and the one I have just purchased however just noticed that
21010-06j29 seems like latest revision.at double the price.

Quite common for Nissan to supersede parts with newer versions during a vehicle’s lifespan. On older vehicles they sometimes commonise parts with other vehicles or change suppliers when volume drops off, as some supplies would specialise in lower volume production.

Supersessions are documented against the VIN by Nissan, so ring up your favourite stealer and ask them to give you the latest part number for your VIN.

Or send Garry at Nizzbits an email ([email protected]). He knows his stuff when it comes to identifying parts.

Interesting, but what would the specific differences be? Are they all the same clearance of the impellor to block I wonder?
Unless if you put all of them side by side you’re going to struggle to figure out the differences. And then they might even end up being identical in shape and performance.

Nissan’s part numbering system requires them to have different part numbers for the same part if it is sourced from different suppliers.

I reckon they are simply different numbers for the same spec part.

The pump I have used for a while now is the GMB. Nissan have used this an as OEM part at some point, as I bought a long motor form Nissan with one fitted. I have a Silvertop and a Ti enigne and pumps are interchangeable.

Why go genuine when theres billet water pumps for them available now?
What brand billet. All i have seen that are billet are disasters and i would prefer a genuine that has been well setup with clearances in conjunction to a bit of radiusing of edges here and there to establish best possible water flow.

Is there a new player on the water pump market?
