There has been too much radical activist talk by many in the indigenous community, echoed by the Greens, about indigenous truth commissions, treaties, reparations and indigenous sovereignty to leave it all up to the parliament where deals (identity politics) are done in order to secure passage of bills.

I think it is entirely reasonable for voters to ask voice proponents, starting with Albo, to set out the basic structure of this new political institution and how it will work to alleviate indigenous disadvantage, and prevent take over of the national identity, before being expected to permanently enshrine it in the Constitution.

The way to avoid an information vacuum defaulting to identity politics is to have an informed and open debate about the details of what is being proposed.

Trouble is, the lefty cancel culture muppets who think that anything right of centre is an anachronism of the past that needs to be exterminated, thus who only understand identity politics, will be overjoyed and out in droves come voting day.

So it will pass and Albo will get his way.

What plisses me off is, they already have the ability for a greater voice, they are just too forking lazy to get off their arses and back someone from their own culture. Look at how they they treat Warren Mundine and Jacinta Price when they speak up against what they call "sit down money" and for the lazy sods to get out and work for what they want! 🤬

The ones that have made something of their lives are hounded for hand outs and if the money isn't coming, then they want to belt the living out of that person. 48yrs ago I raced against an aboriginal bloke from Moree, he hell down two jobs, had a nice home and beautiful family and was respected by the "white" community, why, because he got off his arse and worked for what he had. My parents have a friend that is also a part blood but he refused to take advantage of easy money by not ticking the box that asked the question of race and also instilled that thinking in his kids. 👏

Politicians from all sides are too quick too jump on the "bandwagon" of these want everything handed to them but won't do anything to get it themselves, except roam the streets screaming we are hard done by, well fork them and their backers. 🖕

A reply to a mate about the levels of Government here, when he said that the Federal should be dissolved but I want the State level gone. 🙂

Graeme, then lets get rid of the top tear of double management in the Federal and totally disband State. Them make every single Politician to swear an oath of honesty when/if they are found out, then they are prosecuted to the same degree as in a perjury case. 🤔

No level of Government should have a media spin section or media advisors, nor outside consultancy firms. Employ people that know the jobs inside out and no Politician that has been in office can sit on any advisory board for companies with direct access to Government Ministers. 😤

Any appointment for overseas Ambassador, can not be given by heads of Governments but by an independent panel of High Court Judges that have proven commonsense and wisdom.

The below figures are a little mystifying as they are growing annually???? but take it as of 2021 it is 3.2% of the population. Who will appoint/elect the voice representative for such a broad range of people? How do those they represent, keep them accountable? How do all indigenous nations/clans get equal/proportional representation? What is the support structure of the voice representative (office size, location, staffing, travel budget, etc)? What federal scope does the voice have to be part of?

Don't forget that although it will be in the Constitution, it's form will be determined by parliament.

So even if albo gives us the details of what he is proposing, there's no guarantee it won't be changed in the future.
