So my two E-Lockers arrived all the way from Straylia'. Reading the instructions etc and looking at the hardware in the placky bags...does that silly little grommet actually work for keeping dirt out of the diff casing and also for keeping the oil inside?

Did anyone come up with a better solution?

Any other hints and tips gratefully accepted before installation begins.

Harrops threw in two sets of replacement bearings foc because the shipment was delayed by a few months. I didn't think to ask the USA...I met with the Harrops guys in Dubai a while ago and since they answered all of the questions I felt comfortable placing my order with them.
No joy with free stubby holder & baseball cap though :-( times must be hard?

So just cleaning the immediate area around the drilled hole will be sufficient key for the silicone then? It's hard to trust a silicone seal that's constantly exposed to diff oil.

What about the electrical connections themselves?

Use the silicone that is used for making engine gaskets. It's designed to be used with oil. Alternatively as others have suggested use Sikaflex. Don't expect to be able to remove it without damage though.

Cheers,
