Sompin goin on with this site today, it is painfully slow at times and yes, I've checked other sites. 🤪
I was having a beer with a neighbor Thursday night. His rain fall figures are as below. We had 6mm on Thursday night, 9mm from a storm yesterday & about 6mm earlier this afternoon. There's a bit of thunder around now & the rains just started again. Another 500-600mm over the next week or so should just about top the dam up again, it's 12 months sincce it was last full.
Our long term avarage is around 1400mm a year, so far this year we've had a bit over 300. It's going to be a very wet December if we get our average.I was having a beer with a neighbor Thursday night. His rain fall figures are as below.
2017 55 inches (Richmond river flood)
2018 32 inches
2019 YTD 17 inches.
I've had quite a bit of success fishing off that pier. Unfortunately my missus has even more success there which pisses me off at times as I have to drop what I'm doing to take the fish off the hook for her. She caught about a dozen fish in a couple of hours the last time we went there. Therefore I spent less time fishing as I had to deal with it and rebait for her. That's my excuse anyway. Note we've had better success closer to the bank then down the end. From memory it was the 2nd pilon after the water line.
Bloody oath. A mate of mine up there has caught some decent Spaniards off there.Never actually fished that jetty, but have seen young guys live bating from the end, a couple of years ago wife and I walked out and on the way back I was checking out the gutters and saw the biggest GT I have ever seen (and I've caught them in the high 30kg range), this thing would have gone 59kg+, have also seen the odd good Spaniard off there.
Truely was. Actually just saw his movie, Ford versus Ferrari, yesterday afternoon after finishing with the wife's specialist. One of the best movies I have seen in a while, not just a Fast and Furious or Days of Thunder but a really good story with some real emotion. Even the wife love it.When I first started racing in the 60's someone put me onto Carroll Shelby's books, man what a genius he was, from suspension to engines he had it covered, my race cars all had suspension built to his formula's and I always remembered each Lb removed from unsprung weight is equal to taking 10Lb off the body/chassis. Built my own dual circuit brake systems, fabricated stronger light weight steering arms, brake and clutch pedals, etc. I wouldn't have thrown the books out being the bower bird I am, so they must still be in a box somewhere, memories of a great man.
Based on that reco I'll make a point to see it, thanks.Truely was. Actually just saw his movie, Ford versus Ferrari, yesterday afternoon after finishing with the wife's specialist. It gets around that panther.Speaking about big cats.. When i was a little tacker living in Riddles Creek Vic we used to see what looked like a black panther on the opposite side of the creek to where our house backed onto. People think they are a myth but they are real and plenty of evidence to support it over the years.
