G'day...I don't know a Whole lot about engines or anything but I know my timing is off by a little bit coz when I give it some it will start pinging...how easy or hard is ut to fix the timing yourself? And how do you do this? A step by step set of instructions would be very helpful thanks.

All you need to do is increase the advance by rotating the dizzy in a anticlockwise direction about 1/8".
Good practice would be to use a timing light.
If it sounds like your dragging a tin full of stone you have gone to far.

DONT guess

Go buy a timing light and do it properly

Depending how an engine is built, will depend how the timing will be set

Advancing or retarding the timing generally will have the same effect ,
But not all engines are 100 % the same
