Hi all,
I'm after a bit of advice on a trip. A friend and myself are planning on going from Newcastle, NSW to Geralton WA, we are going to go via the rock. Having never done a trip this big I wasn't sure what equipment and modifications are a must before undertaking a trip like this. my rig is a 06 cab chassis with a telstra body so storage isn't a issue, it has twin batteries, snorkle, 25l water tank and standard nissan winch bar( don't have a winch would it be necessary?). I plan to get some new driving lights wasn't sure what ones, any suggestions? was also going to get a basic kit of hoses, fan belts and filters, depending on money want to a waeco fridge and roof top tent, the list goes on.
Is there anything that i will prob miss or does anyone have an itinerary of equipment they use?
Cheers Caleb.

Do research. I presume you ll use the great centrel rd, if so you;ll need permits. Speedy Seal tyre type plug kit and compressor advisable. 25l water isnt much, I carry about 80lt.
I carry a tool kit, hoses, belt, filters, silicone, duct tape, tie wire, assorted electrical connectors, cable ties, assorted nuts, bolts&washers, locktite, kneadit, radiator and fuel tank repairer, araldyte, multimeter, car manual, fuses, spare cable,
Hope this helps, I'm sure Ive forgoten somethings.
Best advise, dont rush, take it in and enjoy it. Its great country out there.
Regards Paulh
