This years Easter break is a five day weekend and our club is planning a trip over to the are between Tumit/Canberra area. Does anyone have suggestions as to where to go/base ourselves or perhaps move camp each night. Was looking at Batlow area, any thoughts!!! Perhaps over brindabella area. Usually have about 5/6 vehicles (mostly Patrols) of varying levels.

Looking forward to some comments from the locals...

cheers George

There is Blowerig Camp near Batlow, it's run by the local NPWS & is basic accommodation.

There are a few campsites along the Snowy Mountains Highway right on Blowerimg dam, there are also some good ones just out of Tumut on the Goobarragandra.

The other thing you could do is head up Talbingo Mountain & go to Long Plain. Plenty of campsites there, Long Plain, Cooinbil, Coolemine & Blue Waterholes. A little way down Broken Cart trail is Dubbo Flat.

Further east, Tantangera & Lake Ecumbene.

Not much in the Brindies now but you can still get to Flea Creek & McIntyres Hut. Pretty good drives into both of those.

Our club (Queensland Nissan Patrol Club) is going to be passing through a similar area at Easter. Easter is the start of a 3 week high country trip (9 vehicles) and we are planning to spend Saturday night in the Long Plain/Coolamine/Blue Waterholes area.

Don't hesitate to come over and say high if you see a group of patrols.
