How long should i let my ZD30 idle for, say after a run in hot weather, i know it depends on how hard you work it, 5minutes or so should be plenty do you think, i havent got a timer so have been using my watch.

30 secs -2 min should be enough for the turbo to come back to temp, as long as you dont just cut the engine and you let the oil and coolant cool down the parts should be sweet

If you have a EGT gauge, shut down after 200c.

useing an EGT guage is a good way. poor mans way is to go get a high temp remote digital temp guage. DSE or jaycar usually have some. fit the probe onto the out side of the turbo.
