Hi all, just wondering if it's worth putting a turbo timer on an RD28 GU? I usually let it idle for 2 -3 minutes before shutting it down at the end of a trip just to let it spool down.

Cheers

Journal bearing turbo with water cooling = nope.

Such a turbo will stop spinning within 5 or so seconds of engine shutdown, "spool down" is for gas turbines.

Gas turbines??? You talking about like jet engines? Does that mean NO turbo powered car needs to spool down?

Sorry but I know SFA about turbos guys, more of a V8 man ;)
