Hey guys, I have a 1999 2.8 intercooled turbo diesel. I am just wondering if it is possible to put a turbo out of a 4.2 in it and is there any advantage to doing this.

Heya,

You unfortunately cant upgrade the turbo in the 2.8 GU unless you do what benno is doing and get a GQ 2.8 exhaust manifold, you then can upgrade the turbo. This is due to the fact that the 2.8 GU have a 3 stud turbo mounting, where as the 2.8 GQ has the normal 4..

Nice 2.8 aswell!!
