Is that a non-intercooled setup?
Looks like it just goes straight into the throttle body (or whatever that's called on a diesel?)

Other than that, hell yeah!

For starters, they are trying to pull enough air to supply both turbo's through a crapbox standard air filter set up. DUMB!!!
But the lack of intercooling is a complete joke.
Even these two things alone show just how much knowledge about diesel preformance this guy DOESN'T have. ;-)

Hah thanks mate...

That's my abortion that I created..

First.. GU airbox was modded with a cobra head and would have little difference to one of the billet airbox lids fed by a 3.5" snorkel.

Second.. I had a laminova setup that I was going to use for it but decided to sell the whole project and the laminova separately. I sold the vehicle to a guy with the understanding that it need be intercooled. In this form I only had it running at 10psi and told him not to bother boosting it harder till he intercooled it.

But thanks for the input..

Got a mate that did a twin turbo setup on a TD42T and it was not that great. He ended up going back to a single GT2860 and he reckons it works better. I believe you tuned it for him DieselTuner. Is a gold GU.

If someone were to do a TT set up, It would certainly not be a parallel twin set up. You would have to co Compund for it to be a reasonable benifit. However, the cooling problems that arrise with such a set up would almost need to take up the entire engine bay to be able to bring the turbo's efficiency back down to an acceptable level. You would need a massive intermedite cooler between turbo's to take the heat charge out of the air. Otherwise the second turbo is being fed with air up around 120degC and the efficiency of the compressor drops so far its not funny. ( almost half that of a reasonably set up single )
Not to mention a final cooler as well to take final intake temps back down toward ambient.
There is not enough air flow coming through the front end of a patrol to carry out such cooling duties.

No offence taken Scuba.. However you have only proven that shooting your mouth off (read: keyboard), without the full facts, leads to misinformation.

Unfortunately your point on the airbox, while it is correct, is moot in this argument. Not everyone is chasing bigger numbers than the 150kw/200hp range. And as you've pointed out a modified GU filter housing, and 3.5" tube snorkel feeding it, is perfectly capable of flowing up to this amount of air. While it may not be the most efficient way of achieving the required flow rate it is by far the most cost effective. This car was originally being built with that target figure in mind (200hp).

The new owner is very happy with the car but has been given fair warning and instruction on how to get the full potential out of the set up.

All cool, thanks bud.
I completely understand what your saying. I most certainly did not know of the original end goal when you built it. And I am more than happy to eat my words.:bigthumb:
Most people however are normally chasing higher results when they opt for a TT set up.
Otherwise they become very cost prohibitive for the output compared to a single turbo set up. My reply was purely an generalised comment based on the general concensus of people wanting high outputs and therefore thinking they need a TT set up.
But you obviously had your own reasons for your build, how and why you did it.
