It's a shame that when they broke the strap it couldn't have come straight back at them, leave them with a perminat memory oh what they did wrong.

If you can't tell, I'm a young bloke and much like when they say on the tv that p players are bad drivers, this is setting a bad image for young 4wders and I think it sucks.

F#%%^n low lifes!!!!!!!!!!!
Use to help plenty broken down or stuck on side of road but after 10 cars went past the missus with a half dead roo hanging off the bonnet the good honest people that need my help now can go get effed, these were good "honest" country folk that we helped too!
Is'nt it sad when as a generally good soceity this is the way we turn because of the lack of respect and common decentcy(spelling?)

What can you say some people are just scumbags.

The unfortunate thing is the majority of people are honest/decent. But after coping treatment like this for doing the right thing its no wonder we all mind our own buisness and drive by people who good do with a hand.

When it goes to court the full story should be told. Compensation is due here and not just for the stolen items.

They won't get out of this one with sad stories of their childhood. I'll bet they have previous form. I would be tempted to get some legal advice about a civil action if it goes pear shaped.

Just noticed the guy posted this yesterday:

Hi Guys, once again thanks to everyone for there support regarding this matter, I have an update on the situtation the police have charged 2 guys with theft & they will be appearing in court in early December. Unfortunatly my recovery gear is done for ( snatch strap broken & it's got me buggered how do you bend the upright on a high lift jack ) but at least something has been done about it. My lovely wife is going to replace my jack when she re-subscribes to the 4wd action magazine & my kids gave me a new snatch strap last week. So all good to hit the tracks again real soon & yes i will stop to help again i'll just be a bit more picky so to speak .... lol. Once again thanks to everyone & hope to see you on the tracks.
I am in the Toyota LC Club and their policy is " before you pull someone out with a snatch strap they fork over $70" must have been caught themselves a few times. Hope the court orders compensation for you.

Hi,

There are lots of things that " could " happen. Accidents occur all the time, and some may happen to the culprits. This is a case where there is no mistake about the identity. Name and shame after it goes to court and the details are in the paper, so everyone they buy what they cant steal from can add a $1000 surcharge.

See what pub they go to and get them banned from there. The owner is a businessman, if there are other customers from here and other forums that will leave if he doesnt it will happen. The photos can go on his wall of shame.

Find out who they work for tell them to get rid of them or loose a lot of customers.

Why so [email protected]##$$%%^ off ? I lost about $1000 worth of gear camping up in the snow. Taken by a toyota driver I believe. Make Karma happen.

People like this are only 1 notch above " kiddie fiddlers "

Regards B M

That is BS. The guy stops to help somebody out, going out of his way, and he gets screwed over for it. I would happily chip in if the hat was passed around and hand the guy a brand new fully kitted out ARB recovery kit.

Unfortunately this is the Australia that we live in today. The old sayings of "help a mate out" or "a fair go" have been replaced by Aussie Pride, where we all think about ourselves, and f**k everybody else.

Welcome to Australia!

Well here's a true story that makes you wonder how many people are actually like that.
Two friends of mine were holidaying in America and one of them lost their purse while in the states with a wad of cash in it, plus all the usual travel cards etc, ID etc etc. You can imagine the panic this couple were in but the next day she recieved a phone call by a gentleman who found her purse and wanted to know how to return it to her. He gave her all his details as well and police confirmed it just so she knew he wasn't some weirdo etc. As they had just left USA and already in Canada she asked if he could post it to Oz as she and her husband still had access to money and they were moving around quite a bit.
She told the fella to keep the cash too but he wouldn't have it but she insisted. Anyway when they got home a couple of weeks ago her purse was waiting there for her, minus $25.00US for the postage. The rest of the cash still there and all her personals. All she had to do was exchange it back to AUD. No probs there, she works for a bank.
Made me feel a bit warm and fuzzy inside after they told me what happened.

Someone post a reply there telling him to make an insurance claim on the items.

As long as the insurance company has a police report and the crims are convicted then they will chase them for the cost of the items, he wont be paying excess.

Considering they sound like some fkwits i doubt thered be anything worth suing them over, better to let the insurance company have a crack and leave a lien on them haha.
