as tittle says, i have just put in a upgraded wiring loom into the gq
the trucks got the aftermarket headlights, so there not sealed beam
and just wonderin if theres some huge watt bulbs out there i should get ont

Sure theres huge watt bulbs out there.
Depends on how much u want to see and how much u want to blind oncomming traffic, Id say go for the biggest u can find

I loooove to tinker and in my "experiments" with Halogen lighting in my GQ I went as high as 90/130 globes (way over the on road legal max) on the high current loom.

Strangely the best overall results I got "by eye" were with standard wattage "Phillips + 70's" and the high current loom I made. The 90/130's were probabaly a bit better than the +70's but at the expense of pulling 20 amps on Hi Beam, throw in non-HID spots, your other lights and the vehicle systems and the poor old Alt is workin' hard at night.

I've also been down the HID path as well in all permutations from 100% HID lights to 100% Halogen and finally settled on the combination of HID Driving Lights and Phillips +70 main beams as the best combo for me, the oncoming driver and Johnny Lawman... also means the Alternator load is less than 1/2 the 90/130 loading.

Anyway, bottom line is you can go as high as your cabling and relays permit but the largest 12 volt bulbs i tried were 90/130

thanks evil twin, ill have a look at the +70 phillips ones, price em up and see what happens, ive also got 2x hella 4000s and LED tail lights, so its not if im running 20 spotties across the roof or anything stupid to worry about the alt struggling to much. if i was to HID anything it would be the 4000's. i really didnt want HID headlights on all the time, its just another thing to attract attention to my truck. and honestly i do not need anymore attention. so your theory is sounding pretty dam good from here. thanks aswell benno
