Thanks for that man. I've given it some thought and I think I will go for OEM replacement parts this time around. Much appreciated. Your ride looks great.

Too bad you didn't hit me up 4 months ago. Could have taken the heater core off my hands!
That being said, I do still have my rear heater if you are interested.

Installed manual boost controller and started replacing all vacuum lines as well. Also replaced EGR plate. Boost before cotroller was right @ 10 PSI which ( 3'' straight pipe exhaust, KN air intake). Adjusted to 11 PSI and plan to see how the Troll does for a week.

Just watch your temps like a hawk here m8. These little donks don't like to much fiddling in the air/fuel department ...so tread warily. The cooling system needs to be right up there in condition to handle any changes to boost/fueling/air....as the heads are just a bit fragile ...altho in saying that ...providing everything is hunky dory...they do respond well to mild tuning....but respond better to air intake (snorkel with no restrictions)....decent free flowing exhaust....EGR block.....and a lift pump...ie do the basics first.

Cheers Keith

Definitely subbed. I just picked up a 90 GR Patrol RD28T imported from Spain. The lack of A/C (as you mentioned in another thread, none of the components are on the vehicle) is going to be a high priority for me too. I would love to pick your brain about your setup. Looks and sounds like you went with a retrofit kit? Vintage Air, Classic Auto Air or something else?

Sounds like we need to meet up and I can show you everything you need to know about in your Patrol, most work is simple compared to modern 4x4's. and yes Vintage Air retrofit- wasn't easy as I did it all myself- but well worth it.

That would be awesome. I should be picking it up this weekend. :p

I'm trying to figure out how to PM on here, cause I would like to see your setup and am interested in the head gasket and snorkel.

I believe you have to have a certain number of posts before you can send PM or insert photos.

PS Photobucket photos not working correctly on here. Upload from file

Wow! I really like it when they hit the US soil :) It shows Patrol love has no boundaries! Except that 25-year rule. I bet the more patrols imported to the US, the more they might get more and more attention and support, and maybe some full restoration projects as well!

Keep it up!

Took out the cylinder head to replace gaskets and clean it up. Overall easy job and my parts were very clean inside. I think the main issue with the slow seep of engine oil and coolant was the bolts needed re torquing, no signs of pitting/corrosion one cylinder head.
But new gasket fit in great and working great now!

NEW Body Mounts !

Found several DIY body mount replacements techniques and gave it a go.
Took about 6 hours by myself but not really that complicated.
My loud floorboard clunk and several shifting squeaks are now gone and the overall ride feels like new shocks are down there, WHAT A DIFFERENCE !
