hi i have been told that that amount of blow by seen out my PVC pipe, dip stick pipe and oil filler hole is excessive. At idle, thew PVC pipe blows hard and you can get droplets of oil on fingers almost straight away and can see fumes pumping out. Too much?

Yep, too much. I seem to recall you were blowing blue smoke too, and the excessive blowby being fed back into the inlet would cause this.

Get a compression test first to start isolating the problem. Rings, hole in piston etc. would cause the symptoms, as would badly glazed cylinders. Has it always been serviced using correct grade oil etc?

Blue smoke really off and on, mostly for short time at idle following a run of any distance. next set of light no smoke, today smoke, yesterday no smoke. Still runs fine but so much smoke every now and then.

Going in for comp test AM and likely to try de-glazing stuff (stuff is a technical term)

Service history a bit thin in the book, but spoke to the mob whos stamp is there and they said every single service was completed but not able to supply me with further details as they have the car still owned by someone else....

My catch can would catch the excessive blowby before its fed back into the inlet. All pipes from air cleaner to engine are free of any oil, not even a smear really.
