What is the thread called on this heater hose fitting, I know it isn't NPT thread or BSB thread. The ones in my cast head are shot and I'm looking to get them in brass for heater hose. I need 1/2 thread with 5/8 hose fitting also a 5/8 barbed Tee.

Been searching all over the internet and cannot find out what thread it is. 1/2 gal pipe thread has the wrong pitch, A search tells me that is BSB. It is not a tapered thread.

Thanks to anyone with ideas.

BSPT isn't the same, he'll strip the thread once it gets beyond the taper - it feels the same for about 5-6 revolutions - after that its thread chewing time and means rethreading is necessary

the only BSPT plug IIRC is the oil sender - everything else factory is metric or SAE. as bad as early pommy vehicles with multiple thread types throughout the vehicle

Pretty sure that there are no BSPP threads on the troll

It definitely not AN/JIC thread, and it certainly isn't tapered (NPT/BSPT). I would have said BSPP 1/2"-14 ... It is unlikely to be BSB, it is such an odd thread (and clearly not enough thread on it to be 26TPI).

If not that, then SAE? The only way to know for sure is to take the fittings to a specialist fastener shop, and try it till one fits.

I would do what gf00 says, but otherwise, you say it's not tapered, do you have verniers? if so measure the OD, count the TPI (accurately) and let us know what it is. Maybe we can help then through one of the many charts that are available.
