Thanks, I had some ‘borrowed’ never to be seen again. One was a rosewood that my grandfather had. No not the usual suspect, his nephew.

Knowing I won't need to do another brake pad change on the Tarago for a while..

Pads were down somewhat.
I'm to ashamed to show the the front pads..😂
These are the rear pads..
New one View attachment 520040 underneath..🤫
So ya nearly had to get the discs machined, did ya? 🤫

I still have the same pads in the Patrol i brought it will 5 years ago... Gotta be getting close soon.

Pfffft, I had the same ones for 12yrs and sold it without replacing them but they were just about due when I sold it. ;)

Bought mine Patrol new in ‘09, still using them. Check them regularly, might need changing next year, nearly 200k on them.

Driving the Patrol...

Just took it to get some more beer, first time i've driven it since i went away 2 weeks ago. kicked over right away tho i did notice the squeal clips making noise. Maybe i jinxed the pads. :LOL:

I got around 200k km out of my originals, probably could have got another 20k km out of them.

One email to order, one email to pay, not much more expensive, I put an overseas member onto him for a genuine MAF a little while back, much cheaper than he could get it for, plus I don't mind helping out a company who helps us out.
I was packed and ready to head off to Longreach when I started up and heard the screech.
Off to a local parts shop I deal with and they had a Gates branded kit. Came with the tensioner etc and a belt for $60 plus gst.
Whacked it on and off we went.

I think the Tarago has 110000 km's on the clock and I very much doubt the pads were ever changed before by Toyota in their service...
I don't think we'll have the Tarago for a further 110000 kms..
So I say it'll be the first and only pad changed that I'd have to do on that car..😂
