Just in theory, how much should I be asking for this ute?
Best place to sell a heavily modded truck?
Had a look around, but there's nothing really similar on the market.
Difficulty I'm having is that guys want to equate prices with flogged out petrol wagons without all the fruit.

Not looking for low ball offers and not wanting to start a BS gq versus gu thread.

http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/members-nissan-patrols-19/liams-ute-46635/

The quick list;
GQ Ute, painted ford envy green.
4.2 turbo, intercooled, worked gu pump with aneroid
Rockhoppers, safari tuff clutch
GU diffs, factory 4.6 gears, slotted rotors etc
35 mtz's on 17 inch alloys
Custom leather trim, dynamat, big stereo, overhead console, all the toys
Big tank, on board air, rear bags
Pnuematic lightbar, HID's all round,
12000lb winch with rope
Cheezy bar and sliders, snorkel
Best of everything suspension, 3.0 kings with remotes, drop boxes, heavy duty everything.
Dual batts, Inverter, alarm, GPS tracking, all the gear.
GU steer box
Engineered in NSW.

If I cant get a good price there's no advantage in selling it...but I dont want to deal with tossers...best place to sell it?

I think the first question to yourself would be
What sorta $$$ would you part with it for ???
No point asking really "whats it worth"
If you want 15K and everyone says 10K,know what i mean
Put it on evilbay with a reserve and see what the market is willing to pay
But be wary the world is full of dreamers and tyre kickers

Wont help you here, but mate just bought a 1989 GQ TD42 leafy (under 200K)with hydraulic tipper tray and paid 4K

probably get more $$ selling the good bits of it individualy. then sell the truck stock
Probably, but would need all the std bits back- not going to happen.

Tempted to ebay it- but selling modded cars on there previously has pretty much produced a massive que of dreamers, losers and tossers.

tough one to pick, sounds like a very capable 4x4 (I dont even have 3 inch shocks in my race car) but you have the leather interior and the doof doof....
I think you should pick one or the other, sell off some accessories.
Sorry you overcapitalised. Awersome car but if you go nuts with the mods you do need to pick one or the other, its can't do both well.

Theres a simple solution with the evilbay dreamers
NO emails will be answered,No texts will be answered,Only ring IF genuine
That should illiminate all the 14-15 year old keyboard warriors, and the dreamers, tyre kickers

Definetly haven't over capitalized, been in a position to get parts at the right price AND been able to write it all off on tax- so doubly ahead.
Built it to enjoy ( and I do) not to sell. This has only come up as an acquaintance might have to quit an awesome project in a big hurry.

bugger, thats a shame.
It will take some time to sell.
I've seen the same thing with a cruiser uste, couldn't decide between a comp ute and a show car, still for sale AFAIK and not much chance of registering it properly with the mods it has. (not saying yours isnt)

The project that I wanted to cash up for isnt going to be sold, so I'll probably just hang on to it- I like it too much. Like I said, built it for me, not for resale value. I'd be looking to get mid 20's if it was for sale- ortherwise i'd just hang on to it, not fussed. Enginerred cars like this are going up in value with the new laws in NSW ( yes they're at it again) It simply wont be possible to legally register big toys anymore.

Complicating this though- the accountant says it now has a zero value- both the mods and the original price have been written off and there's no further tax advantage...so now its actually starting to cost.

Hi Liam 66,

Awesome ute! i know you have said you're unlikely to sell it, but my question is unless you need more seats, why would you? how do you upgrade from where this ute is at? Surely if you have this desire to get its depreciable value up a bit, you could duramax and portals this one to give us some porn to drool over????

hmmmmm....portals......
