Hi folks. I recently purchased a new set of alloys for the GU wagon. It had the wide factory steel rims. The new alloys definitely sit out further in the wheel arch. In fact with 265/75/16's they are just inside the wheel arch flare. I sussed the tyre mob and they said that they are the correct offset. I reckon they would sit one to two inches wider stance than the original steel rims.

What's the go?

Surely the new rims should not sit wider than the originals?

I'm really not a fan of this look.

The old rims ran the same tyre/size I mentioned and when I bought the new rims I had tyres replaced with the same brand because they gave me a good run.

One reason could be they sold you "universal" offset rims... if so they will be approx 17mm further out then your "factory Nissan" steel offset.

The term universal is simply because that wheel will fit Patrol Cruiser Hilux etc etc in 265 to 285without rubbing so the rim makers list them as "Patrol". Get onto the manuf website and check the actual offset.

Could be other things but I would check that first
