I ran 33s and 34s in the past, now 35s, with no issues.

Really? I wasn't aware you could get them in the 33 x 12.5 on a 17 inch rim, I thought we had to settle for the 285/70/17.

How much were they?
yeah they make them, not cheap at $430 each.
never had any problems with the law and never had to make a claim on insurance. having said that, watch the 265's go back on before it goes to an insurance assessor.

Is it realy not legal to drive on bigger tires?? I´m driving 38x15,5-15 tires Rime size 13x15 but my patrol has gone through special inspection. So it is registrated with the 38s But I´m allowed to go upp og down 10% in size. so I can go down to 35" and up to 41 if I want. Was thinkin to get the inspected with 41" so tha I could go up to 44" and still be legal. Than I could runn the car on 38" or 41" in summer tiem and 44" during the winter. Only bad thing is that I can´t get 44" in radial tries. Not that I know og at least. the car wil be bouncing a lot on the road on the 44s but wil be good in lot of snow with only 2psi in the tires :)
