I bloody well hope so. I have exactly the same diffs in bits on the bench right now..

If you look at the ute front diff centre it should have 4 gears as opposed to the coil diffs only having 2 gears. They're stronger.
And to answer your question yes I think they will fit.

pretty sure the centres will fit but the axles and cv,s wont. well the cvs are the same but from memory one of the axle shafts out of the cv is longer or shorter.

well you've talked to a lot of armchair mechanics then Sizzy.
photos coming..

there are different versions of the centre, with different bolt patterns for the ring gear. not a problem if you're swapping thw whole 3rd member out. I'm using a GU centre which is from a car which had had an ARB locker fitted. I have a 4.111 ring gear off a GQ on it.

i certainly hav. no one i know has attempted to do the job, i was planning on getting an arb airlocker fitted to the diff center i hav, my biggest concern was the axles. r they goin to fit? iv read through the previous posts and still not quite sure how to go about it. when u say they hav 2 or 4 gears. is the the star/planet gears ur talking about? photos would b a massive help. thanks for the help.

different people call them different things.. spider gears is the most common name I've heard for them. the little ones that go between the 2 side gears. If you're putting a locker in it doesn't make a difference. you swap the whole guts out anyway.

Short side axle and cv will fit. long side will not, axle too short.

Leaf steering knuckles are different but look like they would be handy if someone was doing a hydro steer, the arm is about 3 or 4 inches higher and the passengers side has only one arm.

Spindles, brakes, bearings, free wheeling hubs are the same.

AFAIK the 3rd member is directly interchangeable.
I'll take some photos if I get bored tomorrow.

digging up old thread

Gday guys, thought adding to this one would be better than starting a new thread.

I have done a search but have not found anything solid yet. I have 4.3 centres out of a RB30 to fit into my GQ TD42 97 LWB and get rid of the 4.1's. Can anyone confirm the axle lengths for me please, I dont really want to get half way through the job and need to chase more parts!

Will I need to get a different axle to finish the job?
