Been trying without success to remove the wiring from my wiper motor plug.
I have released the plug cap and inserted a pin probe to try and release to no effect.
Should I be probing the large opening or the smaller one as per photos, OR should I be probing from the SAME side as the wire ?

Thanks Guys !

Thanks Overboard, it looks a lot bigger in photo, also using a long thin piece of metal from wiper blade which is much better so yes I'm happy with the size and fit and point taken on the taper.

Dont force anything. They will slide out easy as if you do it right. For that plug you need to lift a little tab away from the terminal.
So in that bottom photo point the tool down into that hole then when you hit the tab lever it up gently.
Once you have done one you can get a good look in there and understand whats going on.

If you want to get new terminals to crimp on i highly recommend www.jaydeeautocables.com.au
They have a huge range of oem auto electrical stuff.

Thanks for the advice Guys but still unable to disconnect pins. Will take a trip to the wreckers and see if I can get hold of a harness and cut it at the terminal block with a bit of length so I only have to rejoin wires..cheers

I now have the correct tool for this but prior to that my favourite tool was a ground down piece of hacksaw blade and a ground down $2.00 screwdriver. Both about 2mm wide.

My technique is to push the terminal forward with the wiring from behind to make sure there is no load at all on it and it can give a bit of clearance to the tang, then use the pick, then pull the wire out. It's a little awkward pushing the wire while holding the plug with the same hand but you get the hang of it. And I usually clean out the old grungy dielectric grease first too so I can see what is going on.
