Its a hypothetical only. Lets say you had a standard gu and were offered a ducks nuts GQ 4.2 turbo diesel with all the mods.

Would you swap?

I'm curious as to how people would answer is all.

Why would someone with a mint, speced up GQ with all the fruit, even consider it?
If I need a GU spec diffs I'll fit them.
Overheating can be fixed, foil thin skin is a little harder!

I asked my mate when looking at patrols as he has had both because I was thinking mint cond gq for the price of a ruff gu but he said its no contest once you drive a gu going back feels ruff. Still a nice gq still looks great and is a classic shape

I have had both and selling the GU and going back to a GQ. Had lots of trouble with the GU. By the way, GQ's look way better and with the money saved I can have big lift, lockers and Recaro's. But if someone offered me a swap I would do it in a flash.

I was lucky and got a Gq td42,one owner, 100k on motor , for $3500.00 in great nick .

A similar gu would be $25000, so I reckon i could get a set of portals and still be infront !

That all depends on what sort of wheeling you do. For touring I'd take a GU, comfort and less rattles and less klms means less worn bits - usually.

For harder weekend warrior you would go GQ as panels are thicker, and tougher.

But id hardly think a 1997 GQ with just over 200K on the clock
Would have many rattles and many worn bits

The damage to the hip pocket from being a EX GU owner will stay with me forever

The only hip pocket damage I have is from setting up a car from scratch again... FWIW I'd not go back to a GQ by choice. But everyones situatiuon is different. Some people dont have a choice. nothign wrong with that.

GQ's look good with dents and rust. GU's don't...

I'd get an old dunga of a gq for a bush basher, but NO WAY would i pull up at work or on site in one... that would just be embarrassing ;) I have an image to uphold! :p

Seriously - I want one as a bush basher... but then again, a hilux'd do. And they're cheaper. Maybe an MK/MQ...
