Hello :)

as you can see by my nick, i´m a rookie in the off road world as well as in the Nissan world.

I´ve been driving an 1992 Y60 2.8 TD with five door and i´m loving it, i´m even considering in buying this car but before i do this i must see how damaged the car is and how much must i spend to make it Ok.

everything in the car works fine, i took it off roading and was astonished by the places we went an by the obstacles the GR went over without hesitation :) really amazing

But...and there is always a but...

there is something wrong with car on the road. if i put the throttle down the rev´s go up but those rev´s are not translated to the back wheels. the car goes just fine if you take it slowly. but if i'm going above the 3000 rpms and put the pedal to the floor, the rev´s go up in the engine and in the rev counter but not on the speedometer.

can any one help me in diagnosing this? what can be done to fix it?

Thanks to all

Rookie :)

If it has a manual transmission I would say the clutch ius slipping. If it as automatic, then the auto box may be cactus.

Cheers,
