Cheers guys, the rims are factory plasti dipped in matte black with Mickey Thompson Baja STZ 275/70 R18. The custom exhaust cost around $3500 fully stainless, it sounds mint under load. I am waiting on the rear draw system and a few other bits and pieces before I decide on suspension, it is still factory. it has got a onboard ARB air compressor ready to suit front air lockers ?.

 

No trouble with those larger tyres on factory suspension?

Also is there a front locker available?

How has the plasti dip product held up in the wear and tear of daily life?

No issues with tyres or plasti dip, there is a ARB air locker that I will get in near future

 

Excellent to know, I didn't even realise there was one for it.

Thanks for your comments on tyres and plasti dip. I wanted to get that but have heard mixed reports.

Current in OL store getting their front bar fitted! Will post photos later today!

Purtrol excellent looking Y62 mate , makes me realise how much I have to do !

I am also looking at the plastidip on the standard rims , do you have to take the tyres off or can be painted on with tyres fitted ?

Also do you have a sound clip of that custom exhaust you could share ?

No need to remove tyres just mask if want too, doesn't matter because it will just peel off tyres when dry.

 

Economy is better since having exhaust, I have a video of the pics above playing in the sand, it goes for a minute I will try to upload this evening

 

Pretty good results from the exhaust! Definitely something to look into in the future, my brother just had a 4 inch snorkel and aftermarket airbox fitted to his td42 and it made a huge improvement, I reckon the big v8 would love a similar setup

.

 

I did enquire about a custom made one but not sure on how it will look with the side fender on the Y62. i might wait until others do it hehe

Sherpa4x4 are looking to develop a snorkel for the y62 this year some time. I guess if there is a lot more interest going to then about having one they may fast track this?

It will have more of a factory look I think , comparing the work they do for other models.

Looks good, very nice.

The plastidipped wheels turned out well, might have to give it a crack myself.

 

Purtrol looks good the old Y62 might be a 4wd after all!

 

Love your '62 mate. I'm keen as on a white ST-L also. Hanging to hear what it sounds like too after the work you had done.

Hey mate you should of, first time i been down that way, i like it down there very relaxing, i wont be down that way during winter though! don't like the cold! BUT after winter i will be down south often for sure
