Ever had a an experience when someone you thought you know turns out to be VERY Different.

Woman in custody over ambulance blaze

I was reading the online Brisbane times and was shocked to find that someone i new was responsible for a heinous crime that has left a huge ammount of the people in the local area appalled. I was friends with this girls brother and she even served 12 months along side me in the SES. I had always thought she was a lovely person.

The blaze she started destroyed a number of Vehicles and a large part of the station, she fled the scene in a stolen ambulance which she proceeded to dump and torch around the corner from a police station in a neighboring suburb.

You think you know someone..... Anything like that ever happened to you?

Man in court over Sydney stabbing
July 8, 2004

A SYDNEY man charged over the stabbing of another man in the city's Olympic precinct has been refused bail.

Mark, 33, of suburban Engadine, was charged with attempted murder over the stabbing of a 33-year-old man at Homebush on Tuesday.

Mark appeared in Burwood Local Court today.

He did not apply for bail and bail was formally refused by Magistrate Paul Coren. He will reappear on September 7.

Other charges he faces include using a weapon to avoid apprehension and breaching an apprehended violence order.
Last I heard was
3 On the charge of using an offensive weapon with intent to prevent lawful apprehension, he was sentenced to a fixed term of imprisonment for three years, dating from 7 July 2004.
On the charge of malicious wounding with intent to do grievous bodily harm, he was sentenced to imprisonment for eleven years, dating from 7 January 2005, comprising a non-parole period of seven years and a balance of term of four years.
The overall sentence, then, was imprisonment for eleven-and-a-half years with an effective non-parole period of seven-and-a-half years.
He seeks leave to appeal against those sentences.

I have known a murderer myself

2-3 years ago, we had this guy who was a quality inspector on one of our assembly lines, One day he was escorted off site by the police in handcuffs to everyones supprise.

We later found out that he murdered his wife years ago & they only just caught up with him.
You would not have picked it as he appeared to be a real gentle person who was quiet spoken and never aggressive to anyone. Can't pick them I suppose.

Edit, Updated information.

Sure was, i wonder if she was knocked back on her Psych exam??? yes, very frustrating to have your dreams crushed but as you said, no excuse. i have been rejected by a lot of things.... including many women :loser: .... but i've never burned/smashed/destroyed anything to compensate for it.

Hope she works it out mate. It's times like these, people need mates! Even if they don't deserve them... if you catch my drift.

The human brain is more of a grenade than the ZD30 and a petrol Jeep combined.

There really needs to be a safety recall on this POS thing we call a brain. I worry there's something defective in it and it exists in all of us and we just don't know when its going to trigger.

There is no police station near there. Closest one is Cleveland.

She dumped it in Dundas street next door to where my missus works.

I spent a few years with an SES unit in Sydney. We were working with the RFS who were fighting bushfires in Northern Sydney's bush areas (Berowa Waters, Galston Gorge etc) and on our way home we found to our surprise that there were also bushfires in our own district.

Later we discovered that one of our own members had lit those local fires. It was leading news in Sydney a couple of times, he avoided jailtime and moved away from Sydney.
