Hi guys, i have read a lot and need some clarification on what oil i should use in my 05 ZD30 DDTi 260,km

i understand that ACEA A3 is recommended,

semi synthetic
and 10w-40

im in sydney

my understanding is to use either the

Penrite hpr diesel 10 or 5
or
Caltex Delo 400 MGX SAE 15W-40 but is not recommended by nissan.

is any of these an absolute, not to use?

cheers

I live at the sea side in the south of France, and go skiing on week-ends. So hot (30 to 37° in summer) and cold days/nights ( -15°C)
Always used 10W40 for 21 years now. No issue whatsoever.

I personally will not run the Penrite oils anymore. A lot of us have tried it and noticed the engine running noticably louder.
15w40 is the correct viscosity for the Di.
Apart from the 5000km where I ran penrite. I have run Castrol Magnetec Diesel 15w40. My engine at over 330,000km is still spotless inside with very little sludge and no noticeable wear.
