Hi All

Left for work this morning and for the first time ever, the car acted like the engine was missing. I turned around and headed for home and it stopped as soon as it started.

It has never done this before
The engine was cold, but I wasn't over revving it
I hadn't just put fuel in it
No engine light on
Very erratic and irregular miss
Car has 205k km on it

It scared the CRAP out of me, if anyone has any hints, please advise.

Thanks in advance.

Did it go away as it got warm. If so glow plugs are gone.
Yes it did!

I'll get an auto spark to check them. I got into the habit of glowing it when I first started in the morning and it now takes a while for the light to go off.

Tonight when i leave work I'll warm it up before I leave!

Remove and inspect the glow plugs -- don't be surprised to find one with a ceramic portion of a tip missing.

These ceramic pieces are very hard and if trapped between cylinder head and piston, or under a valve I feel may cause a "miss" as it passes thru.

In your case I hope not.....

It's run fine since, but I have warmed it up before moving off.
