Picked up a spare ECU unkown year possible 2004 thinking to send off for a remap
Ours is a 2000
Is there any internal differences between these

1999-2000 3.0 Di ECM stock ref is supposed to be 23710 VC 100. VC 101 might be a slightly more recent version depending upon the month of manufacturing.

The reference of the ECM you found is not clear on your picture.
I can't find any reference of ECM starting with 23710 VC 7xy on the Nissan parts sites.

Put the second hand ECU in at locksmiths, he checked the keys.
Started straight up with both keys
More zip than before
Maybe a little less often going to the limp
EGT is down some

Yes there is a difference. The 2004 has more tuning options than the 2000.
Send it off for the remap. You will be happy.

They cannot unsolder anything without wrecking the ecu
I have tracked down another ecu [2003]
obsolescence will get us all

Whoa, are you saying the original unmodified ECU is in that condition?
Mine is a 2000, it has been remapped twice in the last 10 years or so due to extra mods, all still like new. What is the history of the vehicle? I actually got hold of a spare 2000 ECU many years ago as a JIC precaution.

I have 5 bottom ends, 3 heads, 4 injector pumps, 3 sets of injectors, 3 ECUs, 2 flywheels
luckily one of each works
Need - 0ne only x 10 thou oversize piston, please anyone?

YES, cannot believe it. Would have though tucked up in there, it would have been all good
Almost always shedded. never been in water absolutely no beach work. windows always up, carpets all perfect
Maybe we have to treat them with something. Inox. WD. new layer of varnish?
Or am I still just unlucky with this old girl
Almost could write a book about the dramas I've had
Maybe you could have a look inside your spare?
