Hello, has anyone had any experience fitting xr6 front seats to a GU patrol wagon? I like the comfort of the xr6 seat and I was hoping to fit a set to help with back pain. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I can see it's not a simple task. Thank you in advance.

Obviously without the landcruiser wording .
Plus they cost a fair bit more but still cheaper than recaro or stratos seats

Couple of things to be wary of.
I recall a couple of people talking about the Autotechnica seats which are often on ebay and offer from memory a nissan adaptor or easy universal mounting. They were considered of average quality and comfort. I'm not sure what or whose the the ones you picture are but if they are cheap generic like the Autotechnica they may be a let down.
They also look wide. Be very careful here as the ford seats only just fit. If the Ford seat was 20mm wider it would not be a good fit, they are that close. The seat belt receiver just misses the centre console and it is a tight squeeze to use the flip mechanism. This is not an issue as such with the ford seat, it all works, but if that seat pictured is any wider then i think you will have problems getting it to fit right. Then can you get mounts or make mounts.
I was going to make mounts, I'm a sheetie, but the Hurracan ones are so good and easy I couldn't be bothered.
What are they worth. You can easily get cloth XR seats for about $250 a pair. Mine are XR8 the same as pictured in Jamie's post.

Thanks again . They from incharge automotive and come complete with mounting brackets the fella on the phone said he sells about 4 to 5 pairs a week to patrol owners ?? Take that as you will . The price 1699 for the pair that's every thing included just have to bolt in. I live 3 hours from the factory which makes it hard to go see them in the flesh . Same with xr seats I've never sat in them either in a patrol . Iam chasing comfort more than looks . As it's A tourer .
Was looking at the incharge seats myself as my boss just put some in his 79 dual cab and I wanted a drivers seat for my patrol, they are well made, not as comfy as say a VZ SS leather seat like in my commy, they are ford GTP seats re-upholstered. To sit in.... meh. Im a pretty skinny fella and didn't feel very snug in the seat itself. I'd really have to go for a drive to see what they are like on the highway, don't know if its worth putting one in over the ST ute seats. Not slagging thier products just my experiance, he seems like a nice bloke when I spoke to him and he was going to do a single seat for $1160 delivered to Townsville depot.

I have just done BA XR6 ute seats into GU ST ute using Hurracan's MK2 kit. $180 for the seats, $200for the adapters. Best bang for buck mod for comfort you can do.
You did extremely well with your seat at such a low price ?
Also from hurracan as well not sure how you did it so cheap ?
The new Hurricane kit doesn't use any Ford parts, so no electrics to worry about. Seat height is about the same. You need to find Ford ute seats if you have a ute, the tilt function is a must. I got the adapters when they had a special on. Also regarding engineering them, it costs around $400 to do this in Victoria.
What’s your location and who are you using for engineering?
I only ask because I need to look into a blue plate for the Recaro seats I have in mine along with a seating capacity reduction.

I’m looking to do the same thing to my GU Wagon but spoke to hurricane and they said their adapter kit removes the tilt function in the seat base. Did you find a way around this? Tia
