3 inch coils, 5 inch shocks??

I run 3 inch coils (Dobinson) with 5 inch shocks (Amada)

I am using superflex arms in the front and run a factory rear sway bar (extended links) but no front bar

In the front I used 2 inch raised shock mounts and standard bump stops, no coils retainers required

In the rear I have extended bump stops to stop up travel before the shocks try to bottom out. I do use spring retainers and drop out cones in the rear and it does need them.

You can check out my build thread for what I have used if you like. http://www.patrol4x4.com/forum/members-rides-19/extra-cab-gu-ute-148713/

Sorry I didn't ask that question right.
What I probably should have said is why raise the shock towers 2 inches? And why only the front ones?
The longer shocks have a longer compressed length than standard shocks.

If you let the suspension bottom out on the shocks, you will ruin your new shocks.

You have two choices, make the bump stops longer, which will reduce up travel, or raise the shock towers so you still have good up travel. The ideal being to get an even travel both up and down.

On the rear I just lowered the bump stops for the time being as it was simple to do and I can't really have too much more up travel without hitting stuff anyway. The long term goal for me is to raise both the lower and upper rear shock mounts so I stop hitting the lower shock mounts. When I do that I will look at trying to even out the up and down travel.
