Hi guys,

I installed an deck last night, everything was fine until I drove it home a few hours ago from a friends place, I notice the dash lights weren't working, and further investigation I noticed front and rear parkers aren't working, but the head lights, high beam and brake lights are working fine. Glow, engine, battery, hand brake lights come on as normal when key is turned.

I have used a multimeter to test all the fuses inside and outside and they are all fine, still linked and also disconnected the battery for 20minutes but with no luck.

Any comments much appreciated, thanks.

give me 2 ticks to find my manual and i'll tell you want colour wire to tape up :D

Trev

EDIT: behind your deck there should be a pink wire with a black line on it, tape that up and replace your fuse and that should solve your problem

Hi guys,

Just sort it out did another check of fuses and one fuses was blown, 10A - Tail lamp. Thought i check it too. But I wont be putting the new deck in, have to resort to the standard CD deck for now. Don't wanna blow another fuse.

Thanks, Trev for your quick response.....sorry to be a pain.

most of the head decks ive wired up never seem to use logical colours for all the obvious wires.
ie the main power wire in mine was blue. aux power was red. and it was already earthed to the body. but if there are hooked up as to what you think they should be you will be popping fuses all day.
and also the wire that everybody is talking about taping up is more than likely the original lights wire. and soon as you have turned on the parkers you have shorted the lights wire and popped the fuse. have done it myself before. and i felt like a goose upon completion
