me to, stereo lights work, but a/c, sub tank , hazzard , and the ones on the right side of the collum dont light up. Must be a common fault. And like every thing else,, probably not serviceable.

i got told by nissan themselves that as with the gq patrol that owned a few years back that alot of these switches dont have symbols that light up. most of wiych are the ones you are talking about. my hazard one does light up the symbol and to get to that the fron facia of dash where stereo is need to pop off. at the very bottom there are 2 slots for flat head screw driver, lever from here and it just pops off. that takes care of that switch but i am sure that my a/c and recycle air are meant to light up when activated. your sub tank and rear demister both should light up when activated. the sub tank may not light up when you activate it if it senses that the main tank is too full to transfer anything or your sub is too low.
hope this helps you and hopefully someone can help me with my faults. lol

I have the same problem, my a/c switch has a blown bulb, the front of the switch comes off, and I can see the bulb but cant get it out without breaking the switch. An answer to this would be great.

seems as though its typical nissan. lol. i like to play with my patrols auto electrics, always trying to add stuff to it so ill have a bit of play around with the switches and see what the outcome is. don't know when it will be, we have a new born. lol. does anyone have a technical manual that might show how to do this type of globe replacement. can you possibly have a look in to it for us all.
regards.

Depends

Officially most of the switch bulbs are not listed as a part by Nissan. However if you pull them out and take them into a smart dealer they usually have something that will do the job. Most likely it is listed for something else on a different car but most of thelarger smarter dealers would recognise them if you take them in. You can usually remove them with the little socket that bayonets into the switch or whatever. Sometimes you can remove the globe from the socket but a lot of them you have to change the bulb and socket thingy together.
You might even take your sample into Dick SMith's or similar electronics type places.
There is a bulb and socket sold by Nissan for the late model Pulsar hatch which is part number 26261 BM500 which I have found fits a lot of them. They come with a little white condom on them but you can buy different coloured condoms in packs from repco and probably Dick Smith to change the colour output if you want it blue for the air conditioner for example. Or you can take the condom off your old globe.
Cheers

Sorry for hijacking this thread but I have a blown bulb in the aircon-module.
The right dial for the fan doesn't light up.
I have tried to get the whole aircon assembly out but it wont come out coz it is held back by something, probably the cables.......

How du I get the thing out??? Do I have to remove the whole dash???

Help would be greatly appreciated!!

Hi all, i just recently changed the globes for my temp control fan speed and air flow position, just remove the souronding facia (just pops out) pull knobs out then remove plastic decal cover and pull out globs, starting from the back of the globe roll off the blue rubber skin and put on the new globe. You can get replacement globes from supercheap or auto one i think they even have led replacement globes also. If you have to remove the controll box behind are 2 cables 1 going to the right slightly up and is around 25cm long remove this 1 from the END of the cable not the front it has a cerclip that goes over the cable to hold it in place take out the clip with pointy nose pliers. The left cable is longer and goes to the left and slightly down you might be able to leave this in place to work on it. If you are just changing globes then leave the unit in place.

You are a bloody legend mate!!
I just could not get the dial knobs off so I did not try any further to get to the globes from the front

I will try again tomorrow! I hate when globes are not working......

Thanks again! :D

Globes

Hi All,

When I used to have to change such globes in a previous life, find a bit of plastic tubing that is slightly smaller than the globe.

Push it over the globe and if you have the right size tubing you can "mostly" get them out.

At least it is a cheap way to have a try.

Cheers
