The missus 04 1.8l Nissan Pulsar is giving me the s*#ts. It's an Auto and with foot on brake and car running I am unable to get it out of Park with out pressing the shiftlock switch on the trans.
I have pulled it all apart and can't work out what is stopping the little plastic tab from getting the f out of the way to let me change out of Park. I have changed the brake light/shiftlock switch/ignition inhibitor? (assume that is what the other set of contacts is for as the brake lights work and Haynes manual says nothing about this switch) on the brake pedal as that was stuffed and replace the ignition inhibitor relay for good measure and bloody thing still not fixed. Worked once then not again. I have played with the tension on the cable that runs from the shifter button to the ignition still no good.
Maybe the actual shifter is stuffed but 800 bucks is a bit rich.
